Frequently Asked Questions

How will I know if I am a candidate for implants?

During your initial consultation, Smile Implant Center will evaluate your dental condition with a clinical and x-ray examination to determine whether implants are right for you. During the examination, your treatment goals and options can also be discussed.

How long will implants last?

Dental implants placed in suitable bone can last a patient’s lifetime.

Will I be in pain during the implant surgery?

When implants are placed, there should be little to no pain. In most cases, a local anesthetic like Novocaine is used. Smile Implant Center also offers oral sedation which is administered by highly qualified dental professionals. Smile Implant Center is a member of the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation and can make your dental procedures very comfortable, even for the most apprehensive patients.

Will I be in pain after the anesthetic wears off?

Patients can have pain levels ranging from minimal discomfort to pain depending on how many implants were placed, their location, and the patient’s tolerance for pain.
